Protocol Modification

Modifications and amendments to an approved IACUC study must be reviewed and approved by the IACUC before those modifications and amendments can occur. These modifications and amendments may be submitted to the IACUC through the iRIS electronic compliance platform with a Modification Form. Acceptable modifications may include the following:

• Changes to the PI or other personnel. A CV/biosketch/resume and CITI training certifications for personnel being added must be included with the submission.

• Changes to the protocol title.

• Changes in animal amounts.

• Changes to study procedures, interventions, or other approved study activities.

Study modifications that do not result in increased risk qualify for administrative review. All other modifications will require Full Board or DMR review.
