Research Misconduct Committee
Research misconduct, including fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism, undermines the credibility of scholarly work and violates the university’s core values. To maintain a culture of academic honesty, the university enforces strict policies and procedures to investigate allegations of misconduct. Faculty, staff, and students are expected to conduct research responsibly, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and proper attribution in all scholarly activities. The ORRC also has the responsibility to protect the integrity of research conducted at Howard University through its support of the Research Misconduct Committee; supporting investigations and corrective actions related to non-compliance and misconduct.
Goals and Objectives

Conduct thorough, impartial investigations into allegations of research misconduct to determine the validity of the claims.

Encourage adherence to ethical standards and professional conduct in all research activities.

Safeguard the confidentiality of respondents, complainants, and research subjects throughout the investigation process.

Implement preventive measures and educational programs to reduce the occurrence of research misconduct.
Members
The RCR Committee is composed of at least two Howard University practicing scientists from various academic units.
Meetings
The RCR Committee meets on an ad-hoc basis, when a relatable concern is raised.
